The purpose of this poster is to inform a college level audience about the history of bee venom use in medicine, otherwise known as Apitherapy.
The subject of the main 3D model is a European honeybee (Apis mellifera), whose venom was commonly used to cure joint pain and arthritis in medical history dating all the way back to ancient Greece.
Each of the design choices were made to enhance the story of the poster. The molecular structure of Melittin is has a honey-like material to tie into the bee theme, while the Grecian columns set the tone and atmosphere for the history behind the topic. The graphic design contains elements of the story as well, through the use of Grecian font and a honeycomb pattern.
