This animation, made in collaboration with U Chicago's Sereno Fossil Lab, tells the story of an early holocene burial of a mother and a newborn. Dr. Sereno and his team discovered the burial in 2012 at the archaeological site of Gobero in the Sahara Desert.
The research sought to determine the mother's estimated age at burial, overall stature, and whether foul play or pregnancy complications led to her death.
This project contributes to the field of biocommunication by transforming archaeological data into a clear and engaging animation. The content of this animation will expand the preexisting knowledgebase of the Green Sahara people’s legacy.
